  4. First i’d like to Thank You for your time and any help you may or may not be able to give me ! My quest is to try and find out about my Great Great Grand-Mothers ! Her name was Rhoda . I don’t know if that was her given name or name given by white man (Which I suspect ) . I know she was the 5th and youngest daughter of a Blackfoot Chief and was given to a 1/2 breed brave warrior, whom visited their village and had many scalps on him and the Chief was so impressed by the warrior and enjoyed his tales of his many victories of the white man . That he gave him his youngest daughter . He did not want her , So not to offend the Chief , he took her anyway !
That’s as far as i’ll go with that . Is believed this took place some where around Washington or there about !
I know this is not much to go on , Also ! I think this was proble around early 1800’s . But ! ANY help , would be Greatly appreciated !

Thank You again for your time and any help you can give me !
May the Great Spirit Bless each of you !

  5. I myself have no native blood but my daughters father was blackfoot (not sure the percentage). Shes very interested in learning more about the blackfoot tribes but theres so much information out there its hard to tell whats real and whats not. I was hoping to find a knowledged elder to maybe teach or guide her in her journey of knowledge about her ancestors? The only other detail I remember was something about blood or life tribe, I hope that helps a little but any information to help would be greatly appreciated.

  11. Greetings, I believe I am from Blackfoot decent. My grand mother was full blooded therefor I am 1/4. My uncle was in the army and buried in Montana. My grand mothers name in marriage was Eva Nina Humestead Pinkham. Married to William Charles Pinkham . Reported her family is on the reservation in Canada. All info has passed with her. I am hoping to find some kind of help. Some of my aunts say we are not blackfoot but grammy used to make fun saying of course you are black foot look at the bottom of your feet. She did not speak much of her upbringing except her father was an alcoholic..and was run out of the reservation. Grandpa would call her squaw and made us kids really sad . I think she was ashamed of who she was. I don’t want to be. I want to be proud of our heritage and their strengths to survive …If anyone can help me find my true being that would be the best info ever. How can I find out about if I am truly Blackfoot ….

  13. Greetings đŸ™‚ I am looking for more information on my heritage. My father is Blackfoot, but I am not sure what percentage. I have always been interested in finding out more, but I do not have the slightest clue where to start. My younger brother visited a reservation in Montana about a decade ago, but neither of us ever returned. My daughter is now six and I would like to share with her more about our history. Is there somewhere I can look for such information? Also, I would like to get a tattoo of a traditional Blackfoot dream catcher. Can anyone provide photos or components that I could include in it? I used to have dangle earrings of simple black feet and was considering implementing them somehow, but I would much prefer something more unique to my tribe. Please, any assistance would be immensely appreciated. Peace and blessings♥

  14. My name is Rollin, my grand mother was Blackfoot, but unable to have children of her own. She adopted my mother. I am a hunter for the right resins. Only after my second child did the need for food become financial. If I had enough money I would not hunt. Since I am hunting now deer season is coming and I hunt for black tail deer in the north west. On dry days it’s hard to sneak around without being heard. I want to honor my grandmother with a pair of hunting moccasins for the dry days from an real Blackfoot tribe. Where can I get in touch with some one to allow this to happen? Thanks for your time.

  17. Hello my name is Faith, my family has told me that I have Blackfoot In my family. I was wondering if you could enlighten me on a dream I had. I dreamed that a great big brown bear gave me four Cubs to raise. And I did so proudly in the dream despite some of the troubles I had raising them. What does this mean. The day before the dream I was sad, and when I awoke I felt so much better.

  18. A modern looking Blackfoot male spirit came to me in a day vision… he sat carving a piece of wood with a large knife outside my house. In the night he came into my room in a dream and stood by my bed with a knife. I feel as If I’ve done something wrong, I feel as if I’ve upset someone or been disrespectful to ‘him’ or Native culture. I am searching for an explanation or some advice in order for me to make peace. Thank you.

  19. My name is Amy, thought i may or may not have heritage i have been going off a feeling this past week and need advice. Over a 4 night span i have been having rather vivid nightmares that vary on situation but have been disrupting my daily life. Either by recalling events, Feelings, or Images in said dreams. This morning i work at 4:20 (forgive the pun) am with a deep and sudden urge to make a dream catcher. I have made them before, for fun…but for some reason i am seeking out making one very special. Original with actual Sinew from Elk and a stem from an Aspen tree. I don’t know why this is or what it might mean or even if i’m just playing on suspicion but after looking around the internet i felt i should…if anything ask for permission or blessing to complete this task. If you have time i would love to know your wisdom in this small mater of a life far from the tribe.

Thank you for reading and consideration.

  20. My sister is trying to persuade me that Native Americans worship the devil, or satan. She is Christian, but I tried to tell her it just wasn’t true. I was wondering if it actually is true or not? I found out my great great grandmother was full Blackfoot, even though I take after my irish blood, I take great pride in being even a bit native American cause I’ve always loved them and their culture.
Even if some trides do worship a ‘devil’ I don’t think it would phase how I think about native Americans, but id really like to know.
